Education in haiti:

We support the haition project’s louverture cleary schools network, a real solution to poverty in haiti.

The Haitian Project is a Catholic nonprofit organization that supports and oversees one of the very best secondary education programs in Haiti, focused on the formation of Haiti’s future servant-leaders so that the country may realize a brighter future built by and for Haitians themselves. Learn more on their site here: https://www.haitianproject.org/

This page is solely to give you the opportunity to make a charitable donation in recognition of the surfactants blog. You don't have to donate to read the blog. But if you feel like it, great. I chose this charity as we have readers of our blog around the world. Haiti is such a poor and blighted country that I think everyone will recognise the worthiness of such a charity. The charity itself is rated 100% by Charity Navigator (https://www.charitynavigator.org/ein/222700013)

Every donation you make here or on Patreon, I collect and forward in full to the school. However, if you would like to donate directly, please do so on their website here https://www.haitianproject.org/donate . That is totally cool.

More - from their website: The Haitian Project supports and oversees Louverture Cleary School, a Catholic secondary boarding school providing a rigorous, tuition-free education to academically-talented and motivated young men and women outside of Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

The Haitian Project was founded in the early 1980s by St. Joseph's Parish in Providence, RI, to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Haiti. Louverture Cleary School began as a response to one of the greatest needs of Haiti: education. Once a school with a handful of students and big dreams for the future, Louverture Cleary School has now grown to feed, house, and educate 360 bright and enthusiastic students from the poorest neighborhoods of Haiti.

The Haitian Project is a vocal advocate for education as the most effective and transformative tool for ending poverty in Haiti and around the world. We see this affirmed by history—in countries like India, Ireland and the U.S.—and in the work of some of the world’s most preeminent economists. Most importantly, we see it every day at Louverture Cleary School.

How to Donate

  • Monthly on Patreon

I’ve set up a Patreon page solely for monthly donations. The levels are set to reflect the needs of the school. It should be self explanatory. The Patreon page is solely to facilitate donations to the Haitian Project. All content will continue to be published on our site - and will be free to access as long as I run the blog.

  • One Time Donation Here

I’ve set up a store on this site solely for one-time donations to our charity. It should be self explanatory. The store is solely to facilitate donations to the Haitian Project. All content will continue to be free to access on our site - as long as I run the blog.

  • Donate at the School's Site

Just go to the Haitian Project’s site and donate there. Pretty straightforward. Again, please know that you don’t have to donate to our charity to read the blog. I have set this up in response to some questions about how folks might support the blog. Well the blog doesn’t need monetary support, but Haiti, and in particular, the education of their children, does.
